The Gold Coast will feature in Tourism Australia’s latest youth campaign this week.

French backpacker Aurore Dupont-Sagorin is visiting the Gold Coast as she travels around the country for Tourism Australia’s Aussie News Today campaign.

As the 30-year-old explores the Gold Coast she will be sharing her stories and experiences through her social media channels and BuzzFeed.

Minister for Tourism, Trade and Investment and Gold Coast MP Steven Ciobo welcomed Aurore to the Coast.

“It’s great to have Aussie News Today come to the Coast and for the city to feature in this important campaign,” he said.

“Tourism Australia’s new youth campaign, Aussie News Today, broadcasts fun and uplifting Aussie stories from around the country.

“The Gold Coast has always been a top choice for first-time young travellers to Australia; this campaign will help grow this important segment and ensure the Gold Coast gets more visitors.

“Young people tend to stay longer, spend more and travel further in the search for unique and exciting experiences, and the Gold Coast has those in abundance.”

While on the Coast, Aurore will explore Tamborine Mountain, climb Sky Point at twilight and experience the waterways by a jet boat.

The Aussie News Today campaign will shine a light on the incredible and diverse adventures on the Gold Coast and will encourage young people form the UK, Italy, Germany and France to make Australia their next holiday destination.

Australian tourism businesses and visiting holidaymakers can get behind the campaign and submit news ideas via #AussieNewsToday, and visit Australia.com for the best itineraries and Aussie News Today updates.
