Two Gold Coast tourism operators are amongst 200 finalists being recognised at the 2017 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards tonight, February 23 in Perth, celebrating outstanding tourism achievements.
Local MP and Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Steven Ciobo has extended his congratulations to finalists O’Reilly’s Vineyard in Canungra and Treetop Challenge at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
“The prestigious awards are an important annual event showcasing our industry’s finest to the nation and it is wonderful to have local businesses as finalists,” Mr Ciobo said.
“Tourism is a crucial driver of our local economy, so it is important to recognise Australian tourism operators achieving excellence in their sector and their commitment to building this important industry.
“I am pleased to see our region recognised for its high quality tourism venues, and in turn, promote the Gold Coast as a world class tourism destination.”
The industry’s premier awards night recognises outstanding industry achievement across 25 categories.
