A Gold Coast business has won a prestigious award at the 55th Australian Export Awards.
Surfers Paradise software company Opmantek won the Digital Technologies Award last night for their outstanding international success.
Opmantek’s IT infrastructure management and audit software is used by 130,000 organisations in 150 countries to monitor their IT infrastructure.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment and Gold Coast MP Steven Ciobo said the Export Awards honour the innovation and achievement of Australian companies.
“It’s great to have a Gold Coast business recognised at this level,” he said.
“Our community is full of innovative, creative and high-calibre businesses. So it’s great to see another one shine on the national stage.”
Opmantek was one of 77 finalists in contention for an award. Together, the finalists generated more than $3.9 billion in export sales in 2016–17 and employ more than 31,000 people.
Mr Ciobo said the Turnbull Coalition Government was pursuing an ambitious trade agenda to create new export opportunities for Gold Coast businesses.
“More exports equal more local jobs. That’s why we’re working to secure new trade agreements to open new markets for local exporters.”
